Safeguarding incident in school on Thursday 14th May

Dear Families,

I am writing to share the facts regarding a brief incident that occurred yesterday during lunchtime.

Two young people gained unauthorised access to the school site. They were identified immediately upon entry, the police were called, and we took the precautionary decision to move into a partial lockdown, ensuring all students remained safely inside the building.

Myself and Mr Said spoke with the individuals, who left the site within minutes. I would like to reassure you that at no point did they attempt to enter the school buildings or student play areas.

Our students handled the situation with exceptional maturity and were a credit to themselves and the school. Following the incident, I briefed students to ensure they felt safe and supported before they returned to their afternoon lessons as normal.

Our safeguarding procedures were effective, and we will conduct our routine review to ensure our site remains as secure as possible at all times.

Thanks for your continued support.
