Students will be emailing families today to share their updated assessment information snapshots.
G30 – Year 7
These snapshots include updated information on HoWLs (Habits of Work and Learning) and Attendance. Students will be discussing their progress with you in their Student-Led Conferences in January. These will take place in the fortnight commencing 29th January. You will receive an invite to book a slot for this early in the New Year.
G29 – Year 8
These snapshots include updated information on ME Grades, Academic Progress, HoWLs (Habits of Work and Learning) and Attendance. An important note on ME grades. As was discussed last year, the ME grades for Year 7 were ‘soft’ ME grades, based on your child’s performance at KS2 in their SATs in Year 6. We now have a lot more assessment information on your child, and this has been compared a large national data set. This means that ME grades for some students may have been revised. However it is still the case that ME grades represent a significant challenge for students, with expectations in line with the top 20% of schools in the country. You Crew Leader will be able to discuss this with you as part of the SLCs in January.
Of course students will also be discussing their progress with you in their Student-Led Conferences – as with previous SLCs your child’s email to you will include a link to complete a Google Form which gives you a chance to ask questions to help them to prepare for their SLC. You will receive an invite to book a slot for the SLC in the New Year.
G28 – Year 9
Following their recent SLCs, Year 9 are sending updated snapshots. In the spring term students will be carrying out Passage Presentations. These are a reflection not just on their most recent work, but on their progress to this point from Year 7, and their readiness for GCSE. You will receive more information on this in January.
