G28 parent Update: Education Records

Dear G28 Parents and Carers,

We will be issuing digital education records to year 11 pupils on Friday afternoon, before our final community circle. To accommodate this  work can students please be in school by 1:45pm.

Education records are part of a new service from the Department for Education (DfE) to provide pupils with their education information and help them share these details as part of their post-16 journey.

Education records contain unique education information for each pupil, including:

their name, address and date of birth
the schools they have attended
their qualifications (after results are released) I
any support needs

This video summarises their use: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSg32VhCHSw

Education records will be issued on the DfE education record app. Pupils must download the app onto their phones from the Apple or Google App Stores. The rest of the issuing process will take place in school. Please encourage your child to download this before they come into school.

The Apple version of the app requires iOS version 15.0 or newer and the Android version requires 8.1 or newer.

After the issuing process, pupils will have their education information on their phones. They can then use the app to share this information digitally with sixth forms or colleges when they enrol.

Please contact us if you have any questions.

Best Wishes,

Darren Mead

Exams Officer

G28 Easter Revision Timetable 2026

Dear Families,

As we approach the Easter break, our focus is on supporting our G28 students as they enter the “final push” toward their GCSE examinations in May.

To help our students feel fully prepared and confident, we are running a series of dedicated revision sessions over the holidays. These sessions are designed to help students consolidate their learning and ensure they are ready to produce their best possible work during the exam period. It is not our expectation that all students attend all sessions, however students are welcome and in some instances will be directed. Sessions will run from 9.30 – 12.00 in the morning and 12.30- 15.00 in the afternoon.

G28 February Mocks

Dear Parents and Carers, G28 will start their mocks on Thursday 29th of January and will last for two weeks. These will give them a new experience of revising over an extended exam period, and another chance to hone exam skills. Most importantly they can get the ball rolling on revision for the Summer GCSE exams.

As in the previous Mocks in Year 11 we will run these as we will the Summer GCSE exams so that students develop ther exam skills and learn the rules and protocols of public examinations.

This very useful video from The Exam Office that remind students of these rules that will make their exam experience as smooth as possible.

If you have any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Mr Mead and The G28 Team.
